In February of this year I did a blog post on the window’s that I saw in Anthropologie, I was so taken with them that I had to share it with a friend who runs her own florists shop. We were both so geared up to try out the flower tutorial and finally we managed to pull it off last week. Yes many months have gone by since February and a couple of season’s none the less, but we got all our plastic water bottles together and spray paint and had a bash. I think they look great and although we don’t have quite the quantity that anthro had I think they look pretty sweet! So depending on what color of spray paint you buy you could have some for every season!
Today I taught a beginning flower workshop at Cast Away yarn shop in Santa Rosa. Here is a collage of pictures of some of the finished flowers created, pretty great considering none of them had needle felted before!. I shall be putting together another class for Cast Away which will be held either late June or early July. It will focus more on embellishment but still using the basic’s of needle felting, so sign up on my blog or Cast Away’s website to hear what project you can sign up for next.
Tomorrow I shall be teaching a beginning flower felting class at Cast Away, so if you are looking for a new fun thing to learn come by and take the class, it is from 10am – noon. If you cannot make the class I now have kits available for sale which come complete with everything you need, including step by step instructions on how to needle felt yourself a flower. Kits are available at Cast Away yarn shop and online at my etsy store.
Have a great weekend!.
“Nina & Tom” are one of the retailers that stock some of my hair accessories, they have organised an Indie Craft Fair in Downtown Davis outside their brick and mortar store on Saturday March 6th starting at 11am. I shall be joining them and I am excited as this will be my first fair this year! I have never been to Davis so I am happy about finally going there and meeting some other crafters and checking out Nina & Tom’s store, they have a great line of T-shirts which are all produced locally, all the design’s are their own and dyed and printed in-house. The most famous for me is” This Mama is for Obama” , I saw this tee often sporting around my neighbourhood.
So in time for this Saturday’s show I have made up new sets of coasters in this yummy new felt I just received and I am almost finished making another batch of new clutch bags, there will be lots of Hair accessories too!
Check out Nina and Tom’s blog for more information, hope to see lots of people there.
I have just come back from finishing Bazaar Bizarre with the help of 2 lovely friends, who helped my lug all my loot to the city and then kept me company!! I have been there as a shopper before but not as a vendor so it was a great experience.

Here in Santa Rosa we have this amazing Yarn store called Cast Away, it is owned and run by a very talented lady Justine Malone. I am always so inspired when I go into this store as a) it is so beautifully decorated and b) the yarns and all the other knitting paraphernalia she has is sublime!!
This weekend Cast Away will be having their 1st Year Anniversary Party, it kicks off tonight starting at 5pm until 8pm and there will be so many fun things happening at the store all weekend, oh and did I mention there will be MEGA discounts on different things throughout the store all weekend so you had better head down and load up for Christmas!
I shall be there on Saturday doing a FREE felting christmas ornament workshop from 11am until 3pm, which alas if you happen to miss I shall post on here as part of my project series.
